Experience

From labs to leadership.

The short version: a technical career — labs, enterprise BI, data consultancy, infrastructure — that became company leadership. Today I run Education Host; the road there is why I can. LinkedIn holds the concise record; this is the story.

  1. Current

    Managing Director · Education Host

I manage Education Host as a whole and set its strategic direction. The company — a specialist education hosting and software business, education-exclusive since 2011 — designs, develops and operates platforms and services for universities, colleges and schools across the UK, North America and Europe, delivered with our developers and specialist partners.

    • Product and service strategy across the portfolio: Student Web Host Manager, Cloud Pulse, Cover Manager, AI Labs and Education Host Studio
    • Software development oversight, working with developers and specialist partners
    • Overall responsibility for infrastructure and operations, including the company's own OpenStack cloud
    • Customers, partnerships, commercial decisions, financial oversight and long-term growth
  2. Recent engagement

Data consultancy · Social housing sector

Individual consultancy with a housing provider: enriching management-system data with deprivation indices, postcode data and demographic segmentation, and supporting the selection of an enterprise reporting tool. Ground-level data work that still informs how I steer Education Host's data and reporting services.

  3. Earlier career

Senior analyst & technical lead · Clearview Systems

Enterprise reporting and business intelligence delivery (CXAIR, Power BI), including delivering training to professionals across multiple companies — where I learned to translate between technical teams and the people who depend on them.

  4. Earlier career

    Business development · Aqua Protec

Project management, tender writing and technical pricing — the commercial grounding behind running a company today: how technical work gets specified, priced and won.

  5. Early career

Lab manager · Worcester Business School Media Lab

Ran the media lab while studying — a first taste of operational responsibility: keeping teaching infrastructure working for the people who depend on it.

  6. Education

BSc (Hons) Computing — First-class honours

    University of Worcester

    • Titania Cyber Security Award
    • Academic scholarship
